LandGist turns public records into mapped evidence screens for North Carolina land. These terms explain what you get, what the reports don’t claim, and how the paid Land plan works.
THE SERVICE
What LandGist is
LandGist assembles mapped evidence screens from versioned public records — soil, flood, geology, well records, and utility context — for North Carolina parcels. A report shows what the mapped evidence says and where it stops.
LandGist is not a permit, inspection, survey, engineering service, or legal advice. Reports do not predict septic approval or well success. Final determinations rest with county site evaluation, drilling and testing, and local authorities.
LAND PLANS
The paid Land plan
The Land plan is a one-time purchase at the price shown at checkout. The report is prepared and frozen before preview and purchase, so what you buy is what you previewed.
A Land plan includes all free parcel information plus the full captured evidence and parcel-specific explanations. Buying a plan does not buy a permit outcome, a guarantee, or future updates to the underlying records.
ACCOUNTS
Your account
An account requires a verified email address. Give accurate information, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if your account is compromised. You’re responsible for activity under your credentials.
REFUNDS
Refunds
If a purchased Land plan isn’t right for you, you can request a refund yourself from the plan in My land within seven days of purchase. Once the refund completes, access to that plan ends.
FAIR USE
Acceptable use
Don’t scrape, overload, or abuse the service, and don’t resell reports as your own. Site analytics follow the commitments in our privacy page: use counts without addresses, parcel numbers, or ad tracking.
NO WARRANTY
The service is provided as is
LandGist and its reports are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Public records change, lag, and contain errors; every report shows its sources and dates so you can verify what matters.
LIABILITY
Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, LandGist’s liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the plan at issue. We’re not liable for decisions you make about property based on a report.
LEGAL
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. We may update these terms; the current version always lives on this page.
